Nestled on a beautiful acreage northwest of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan, Poplar Ridge Puppies is more than just a place where puppies are born—it’s a home filled with love, the joy of animals, fresh air, and wide-open spaces. We share our home with cows, dogs, and cats, creating the perfect environment for our puppies to grow, play, and thrive.

Our deep love for animals is rooted in our ranching backgrounds. Growing up on ranches, my husband and I developed a lifelong appreciation for nature, family, cattle, and, of course, dogs. Over the years, we’ve had the privilege of owning and working with a variety of breeds, from Blue and Red Heelers to Golden Retrievers, Rough Collies, Miniature Shelties, and even a Shih Tzu—who, as we quickly learned, was not exactly suited for life among cattle!"

When our children were young, we raised Papillons alongside them, but as life grew busier, we shifted our focus to family while continuing to cherish our pets. When our youngest approached high school graduation, I felt the pull to raise puppies again. After extensive research as a family, we discovered the Australian Shepherd—a breed that instantly captured our hearts.

In 2021, we welcomed Zoey, our first Aussie, and were quickly won over by her intelligence, companionship, and unwavering loyalty. Soon after, Onyx joined our family, and the rest is history. Their first litter in 2023 was a joy, and the wonderful feedback we received about our puppies confirmed what we already knew—Australian Shepherds are truly special. Their sharp minds, loving nature, and deep devotion to their families inspired us to share this incredible breed with others.
